First Church supports the East Haddam Food Bank through on-going collections of non-perishable foods, supplies, paper goods and personal care items. Donations of these items may be placed on the stairs to the high pulpit.
Financial donations may also be made at anytime through First Church.
A special request for donations is made in conjunction with the Annual Interfaith Service of Thanksgiving and Music.
Half of the proceeds from the First Church Annual Christmas Tea and Children’s Fair each December support the Food Bank with the other half going to the East Haddam Emergency Fuel Bank.
The East Haddam Food Bank is located at Grange Hall, 488 Town Street, just across the street from First Church. It is run by volunteers and supported by cash and food donations from the community, as well as food purchased from the Connecticut Food Bank in New Haven.
